SHABNAM-E-SAHAR — Mogra at Dawn Before the World Wakes
Shabnam means morning dew. Sahar is the hour before sunrise — the quietest, coolest, most sacred hour of the day. This itr is that moment: mogra flowers in full bloom, dew still on the petals, the air clean and cool before the heat arrives.
Jasminum sambac — mogra — is harvested in the pre-dawn hours in Kannauj when the flowers are most fragrant. The oil is extraordinarily delicate. It cannot survive high heat distillation. It is extracted slowly, carefully, at temperatures that preserve every nuance of the flower.
On skin, Shabnam-e-Sahar opens with fresh mogra and tuberose — bright, dewy, alive. The heart is jasmine and ylang-ylang, lush and full. The base is white musk and soft woods — clean, lasting, luminous.
